You'd be ordering construction of individual buildings, zoning areas for development, arranging industries (even between cities) that support growth or further some particular strategic goal. Everything here is more civic, dealing with thousands of people rather than millions. You'd be jumping through eras as time progresses, increasing the expanse of your civilization, and playing the game as a grand strategy.Īt the middle level is a city-builder game where you're building the actual cities and fortresses you placed on the map, and managing the game at a more direct level, where time is slowing down and passing in weeks or months. Here you can recruit units, research technology, engage in diplomacy / politics, expand your empire, explore, and engage in all the concepts of the game at a large scale. Here time progresses quickly, with years passing on each decision you make. The uppermost level is something along the lines of Civ, Crusader Kings, and 4X games. I'm envisioning a game where you build a civilization across a long expanse of time that's happening at three levels, each one with a generous amount of complexity and depth. This is an older comment I wrote from a previous thread but I still want this game: Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon also gets pretty close, but the restrictions in flying height is the worst feeling, because you finally get that feeling of freedom only to be smacked down to the ground by the invisible walls. But i would love to see a fully-fleshed out flight game like that. It takes a fuckton of effort, time, resources and planning, not to mention endless playtesting, to work with all these dimensions of physics without it becoming a mess. Games where you're animals or mythical creatures (i'll take Okami as the example since it's pretty close to what type of game i dream of) are pretty much all based on the ground and for perfectly solid reasons. Exploring the skies and mountains and floating islands and such, whilst also being able to explore the ground and run around with as much detail and interactive elements on that level, is the dream game. I want to feel like i'm flying and not just controlling the character like a plane. I just want to fly around an absolutely huge virtual world, with button presses being attacks and flaps of wings. Could be a fighter, an adventure game, action, whatever. I want a game where you're an animal that flies (can customise it, with different options like dragons, alicorns, birds, griffons, whatever) and it's not an mmorpg. These threads are going to contain a lot of wishful thinking but its still fun, so I'll start. r/CoOpGaming - A community for co-op gaming r/xboxone - Xbox-specific subreddit for general Xbox news and discussion r/playstation, /r/PS4 & /r/PS5 - PlayStation-specific subreddits for general PlayStation news and discussion r/pcgaming - PC gaming-specific subreddit for general PC gaming news, discussion and gaming tech support r/nintendo - Nintendo-specific subreddit for general Nintendo news and discussion r/shouldibuythisgame - Find out what's worth getting. r/gamingsuggestions - Go here to help you find your next game to play r/gaming4gamers - Discussion, bar the Hivemind Top-level comments must be at least 100 characters in length.Accounts must be at least one month old.External Links must follow these guidelines No topics that belong in other subreddits This subreddit shouldn't be used for advice of any kind.
